A big crowd turned up for the day to take part in a multicultural and diverse experience of food, music, dance and entertainment.

On the main stage just around the corner from Turo-Turo's front door, Carnival performances ranged from traditional Cook Island, Hawaiian, and Chinese dancing, to R'n'B, Hip-Hop, Reggae and Calypso music, through to modern dance and the inevitable performance(s) of the dance-of-the-moment, Gangnam Style.

A second stage hosted events such as juggling, balloon sculpting, belly- dancing and more Pacific dance.

Turo-Turo was there too, with its popoular Pinoy street barbecue - Filipino street food like atay and pork and chicken kebabs. It was popular with both Filipinos and non-Filipinos alike, with the bravest locals trying out barbecue delicacies like isaw, and  tenga - and loving it.

Auckland turned on a beautiful day for the event with barely a cloud in the sky, making it a memorable day for everyone who came.

Auckland City's
Glen Innes Carnival was a celebration of the suburb's diversity, energy and culture - we look forward to doing it all again next year!
